The Frog Princess
The Frog Princess in its Polish version was first popularized in Polish Fairy Tales, published in 1862 by ethnographer Antoni Józef Gliński. When the youngest prince of a fairytale kingdom shoots an arrow into the sky in hopes of finding his future wife, he finds the arrow in a distant pond with a little frog sitting on top of it!
This is a project I did inspired by the scene illustrations in movies such as Song of the Sea, The Secret of Kells, and Wolfwalkers, all of which I watched on a United flight between the U.S. and London. The curling, swirling motion of the static landscapes prompted me to try to create such movement of my own!
